I'm starting a new little weekly column here called "He said" - so I don't forget some of the wonderful new words Julian is learning! Because I know 10 years from now I'll never remember!
(yes, completely lifting this idea from Ali Edwards! thanks much!)
The other day I asked him " Would you like to take a nap?" Julian says "No, don't want to go to sleep." Then I say "Would you like to go to the bank with Mommy?". Julian replies "No, no thank you Mommy".
It's an undescribable feeling hearing some of life's ordinary words coming from your 2 year old!
He wakes from his nap and I can hear over the monitor " Mommeeeeee, awake meee!" (learning how to say Mommy, I'm awake from my nap now)
And of course every morning we hear " Mommy, Daddy, where are you?" and this morning on Mother's Day he says "Mommy, where are you?" "Want Thomas, want train !". (we bought him this fantastic Tomy made Thomas the Tank Engine train that make sound and music when it's rolled on the floor). Every now and then you find that is better any toy. It could be $5, but better than anything you might find.
This photo shows Julian on what he thinks is a little stool but obviously is a laundry basket. Washing his hands, or let's make that water play is his favorite activity this month! Who needs toys?
And of course he wants to ride every train, ride every bus and asks several times a day about going in Daddy's plane!
Guess it is a great mother's day despite this 7th day of rain! My boys took me to Paul's Pasta last night....some of my favorite restaurants are those that look like the inside of someone's kitchen...had my favorite little garden salad with mouth watering garlic dressing and Papardelle Carbonara ! Yummmmmm!
